Chasing the Light by Elizabeth
Grew from a simple habit: noticing.
I have always been drawn to the moments that are easy to miss — the way light moves across water, the shape of a storm building over white sand, a bird caught between stillness and flight, a shell resting where the tide left it behind. I photograph the places where something is changing, even if only for a second.
Much of my work is inspired by the Gulf Coast, where the sky and water seem to change by the minute. I am especially drawn to movement, weather, reflections, quiet details, and the contrast between softness and strength.
For me, photography is less about documenting what a place looks like and more about preserving what it felt like to stand there.
Each piece is chosen because something about the moment made me stop — to look a little longer, to feel something, or simply to think, this matters.
That is what Chasing the Light means to me.
It is the search for beauty in motion, stillness in the middle of change, and the light that somehow keeps finding its way through.
